August 31, 2023 Special School Committee Meeting
The Special School Committee Meeting of the Brockton School Committee was held this evening, at six.
These minutes contain a summary of the meeting and list items that were under discussion.
Mayor Sullivan, Chair called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., followed by a salute to the flag.
Present: Chair, Robert F. Sullivan, Mayor, Ms. Asack, Ms. Ehlers, Chair, Ms. Rivas Mendes,

Agenda #2 – Executive Session
Mayor Sullivan called for a vote to go into Executive Session and read the following statement for the record.
“The Committee will enter Executive Session: Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30A, §§ 21 (1) – To discuss the reputation, character, physical condition or mental health, rather than professional competence, of an individual, or to discuss the discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual.”
“Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30A, s. 21(a)(2) – To conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with nonunion personnel or to conduct collective bargaining sessions or contract negotiations with nonunion personnel.”
The committee will not return to open session following this Executive Session.
Ms. Sullivan motioned to enter Executive Session. Seconded by Mr. Sullivan.
